A LEADING CENTER FOR RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND DIALOGUE AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE ISLAMIC TRADITION AND CONTEMPORARY BIOMEDICINE
Your support enables us to carry out innovative research, educate clinicians, patients and community leaders in Islamic bioethics, and fill in the gaps of knowledge pertaining to the intersection of Islam and medicine. Together, these overlapping activities enhance the health and healthcare of the American Muslim community and cultivate a community of experts who have a deep understanding of the Islamic tradition, modern bioethics, and contemporary biomedicine.
As part of our continuing educational activities on Islamic Bioethics and the relationships between Islam and Medicine we would like share that we are hosting an international multidisciplinary conference in April 2016:
The following video of Aasim I. Padela, MD, MSc, the director of the Initiative on Islam and Medicine, is part of a previous MacLean Center medical ethics conference in which over fifty speakers presented on a variety of topics in contemporary issues in clinical medical ethics.
The following video overviews how Islam impacts muslim behaviors in addition to healthcare decisions, and the importance for initiatives such as II&M.*To view more videos visit the Initiative on Islam and Medicine's YouTube page.
